Students at the Cross

Student Ministry Overview

The student ministry of Church at the Cross exists to help students and their families encounter Jesus. We believe that students and their families will begin to experience renewal in Jesus as they begin to order their everyday lives around Jesus and His mission.

About

In our student ministry, we seek to develop in 6th-12th grade students a strong gospel foundation through continual exposure to the bible in the context of gospel communities. We believe a strong gospel foundation is built by relationships with other students, parents, and adult volunteers. Living in a post-Christian society, this is just the kind of foundation that our students need to encounter Jesus, and then become agents of renewal in the world they live in.

Parents

The vision of our student ministry is to help students and their families encounter Jesus. We are under the conviction that the frontline to the discipleship of students is the family. As we make disciples, we do so as reinforcement to the family. We also understand that as we seek renewal for students and their families, the ideal is not always reality. Teenagers are not always easy. We want to be the parent’s greatest ally in the discipleship of their students. We are excited to help equip parents in the discipleship of their student. Please email Student Minister James Sercey at james@churchatthecross.com to talk further about the spiritual formation of your student.

STUDENT LIFE GROUPS

Student Life Groups

Sunday 10:45am | The Hangar

Every Sunday at 10:45am in the Hangar we have Student Life Groups. Student Life Groups are designed with the student in mind. They are age/gender based small groups that are led by adult volunteers who love students and want to help them in their relationship with Jesus. Students can expect a welcoming environment where they can be themselves, dive into the bible, and be known by God’s people. Students are encouraged to attend the 9am worship gathering in the auditorium, and then head back to the Hangar at 10:45am for Student Life Groups. We use The Gospel Project for Students as our Student Life Group Curriculum. You can learn more about The Gospel Project for Students here.

Want to Serve?

The student ministry here at Church at the Cross is not about any one person except for Jesus. As a matter of fact, we understand that if we are really going to reach and disciple students, it is going to be on the backs of a whole team of parents and volunteers. If you have a burden to reach and disciple students, we would absolutely love to have you join our team as a volunteer! There are multiple ways to volunteer and we would love to discuss how you best fit on the team. To get started, follow this link, and we will be in contact soon!
