Day 5: Seek a felt sense of and security in the Father’s love for us

Welcome to Day 5 of 20 Days of Prayer for the Awaken Conference!

Scripture: Romans 8:15-16 NIV — “For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’ The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” 

Prayer Prompt: Pray for a deep reminder of the experience of Romans 8:16, the Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. Pray that we know in an experiential way the wonder and depth of the love God has for us as his children; that he delights in us, and we are in his good care. Ask to become convinced of his love and delight in us with full awareness that we are set free from our worries and set free from our bondage to pleasing people. Declare that our fears are vanquished because we know that God is for us and will work all things together for our good. Pray that the draw of this sensual world is weakened because we are so satisfied in the Father’s love.
